I've been involved in photography since I was ten. That's more than fifty years, although I was away from photography for twenty years, from 1978 until late 1998.

After deciding to return to photography, I looked at the 35 mm families that were available and easily narrowed my choice to Canon or Nikon. I decided to cast my lot with Canon because I thought then, and still do think, that Canon has an edge in technology due mostly to its larger size and budget.

Since moving to Colorado, I've decided that I should be a landscape photographer, despite having been a photojournalist for much of my early experience.

I've found membership in camera clubs to be a valuable experience, both for the sharing of knowledge and the friendships.

I've been a teacher for many years, although never in a formal academic situation. That's why I decided to offer photography workshops that are a combination of photographing interesting places and sessions where I give instruction in digital photography. All of my current workshops feature instruction in high dynamic range (HDR) photography. For more information about my workshops, go to my
Workshops page.

I hope you enjoy this site.
