Windy Ridge, August, 2012
Workshop in Alma, Colorado, August, 2012
Aug. 11 (Afternoon) through Aug. 12 (Morning)
Meeting Place: To be determined, Fairplay, Colorado
This trip is mostly about photographing bristlecone pines, which grow only at the tree line. Since Windy Ridge is at about 11,750 ft. above sea level, this is not a trip you should consider if you have experienced health problems at high altitude. See my galleries of previous trips to get an idea of the scenery and terrain.

Page, Arizona, October, 2012
Workshop in Page, Arizona, October, 2012
Dates: Oct. 18-21
Meeting Place: To be determined, Page, Arizona
This workshop will concentrate on the use of high dynamic range (HDR) photography for landscape photography. We will visit the Upper and Lower Antelope Canyon and some other lesser-known slot canyons where we will use HDR techniques to create photographs that show a great range of light and tonality. We will be guided in the slot canyons by Carol Bigthumb, who runs Adventurous Antelope Canyon Photo Tours.
In addition to Photoshop Lightroom and Photoshop, we will be using Photomatix Pro from HDRSoft.com and HDR Efex Pro from Nik Software. Demonstration versions are available.
Check my Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend Overlook pages for examples of what you can expect to see.
